Dog in The Smoke....

Hello my dear friends....we had such a busy day today that I wanted to update you all straight away....and we shall do that in a proper newspaper style.....

...I was fitted into my new Furst Class Rucksack Travelling Pocket....I have room for some company too!

...and settled into the journey to London on the 11.44 to Waterloo....*sigh*...the perils of commuting...

...I caught up on the important events from yesterday....it's a bad day for Mr Davidson..."Nick Nicked"!

*BUMP*....oh my word....should I be wearing a seatbelt?....

...that's better....all secure again........time for a nap before we get to the Big Smoke....

...I admired the Victorian architecture at Waterloo station....

...and we walked through the big crowds of happy tourists.....

Can you tell where I am yet?......

I shall be the MP for Terriershire one day.....we shall introduce the Compulsory Daily Nap....

...the section of our party who suffer from vertigo vetoed the idea of a trip on the Eye and so we crossed The Thames....

...to see the Battle of Britain Memorial on the Embankment.....*bows head in memory of our brave airmen and women*

...to the Planes!.....

..people say its dangerous in the Big City but I must say I felt safe and well looked after...

....I asked typist if we could buy a pied-à-terre but he said they might be a bit expensive...

....the locals seemed friendly enough....*coooooo*....but they speak a strange dialect....

....and the roads are VERY BUSY......*runrunrun*......
....but we made it safely to the ICA....the Institute of Claptonian Art...(* I think)....

....er....here we are in the bar.....ooops....just for lunch though!!.....mmmmm, soup

....I was exhibiting some work from my Blue Period....this one I call Blue McNuggets....

....and this one is a sophisticated battenburg for @ollyted....cake as art.....

....on our way back to Waterloo we stopped by Canada House to see of @thegobros and @zoetheborder were in...but apparently they don't live here exactly....

....I was promised I could meet Admiral Nelson in Trafalgar Square....*peers round*...

...Can anyone see him?......

...I would call him...but I have not brought my mobile....

....we walked back to the river....and the wind played havoc with my smart new fur-do.....you can see a very blurry St Pauls behind me....

....and that's The Shard....it's a bit smaller than I thought it would be...it doesn't look 310 metres tall does it?

...never mind, we can catch some culture at The South Bank .....*sips cappuccino in the lobby*....

...and finally we got close to Nelson!....but it's Mr Mandela this time....
*sigh*...it was such an exciting day...but now it's time to go home again....

Christmas time...

Hello everybody *waves paws*....did you forget about me? I suppose that is probably my fault for being so bad at keeping up with the blog these last few busy weeks. The week before Christmas was a total write-off when all the whole family came down with colds and flu....

....all dressed up and nowhere to go...

....so I had to put aside the festivities and tend to their every need....

...are you sure this is good for flu?...

...even Lola's....

..treats for Lola at Christmas...

....and make sure that naughty people were not spoiling their medication with naughty Christmas chocolates...

...shut...and staying shut...

...but of course they eventually recovered and thankfully before Christmas Day....Lola got a nice Lamb Shank bone to keep her busy....but she got very worried someone was going to steal it from her....

...and was not happy until she had been allowed out into the garden to eat it in peace....

...nom nom nom....

...even if it was raining cats and (other) dogs out there....

...mum got a nice reminder about a certain someone in her stocking....

...now permanently in a comfy spot....

...after a very nice day of presents and food we decided to get out of the house for a walk on Boxing Day.....

...i feel certain someone is watching me!...

...and we got right to the top of Leith Hill...the highest point in Surrey....

...Lord of all I survey....

...and King of the Castle....

...and even the cows came out to say Happy Christmas...with a special mooooo for @sidthecatahoula in Chicago....

Moooooello Sid....

...in fact we have done several walks over the holidays...we delved into our book of local walks and found a nice one in Pirbright....but the rain came and we had to keep the camera in its waterproof container....

...Lola: unimpressed by mud....

...but our walk in Leigh looked more promising on New years Day.....

....sunny outlook? Pawfect.....

...but...oh dear....

...another mud bath for Miss Lola....

....there's only one thing a knitted dog can do when the weather thwarts his plans....TO THE SALES!.....

....do you have it in a "small"?....

....it was an exhausting trip.....

Dogs who lunch....

I hope you had a lovely Christmas and Lola and I wish you a happy new year.....

A weekend of firsts...

Hello everybody....*waves tiny paws*...it's me, Clapton. We have had a weekend of firsts.....the first first was going on my first walk with Lola! I have never been for a walk before and I was very excited.....i wanted to make sure I was doing everything right...

Oh dear....I wonder if we have any in my size...

.....and I offered to help the Typist out with all the arrangements....

....i need to face the other way?

...but eventually he told me to settle down into my first class travelling pocket....

....snuggly...

...and off we went to Ashtead Common....i had to make sure I had read all of the rules and regulations....

...doing my bit for conservation...

...and I made sure that Lola did not get left behind.....

...hurry up Lola, we must not get lost....

....and we found time to play hide & seek..

*sniff sniff*....she smells me but she can't see me...

....and Lola kept a beady eye on the Typist in case his hand strayed into the treat pocket....

....*snak radar beep*....

...we walked for almost two hours and I had to stop for a rest at the halfway point....

...hmmm, this bench is a bit damp for my taste....

....and Lola had her Scruffy Bite snacks for energy....

....must haz snaks...cannot go no furver.....

...the going was quite tough in the grazing area.....

er....don't leave me behind....

...so I had to find a more elevated spot so I could navigate...

....i see land mi hearties....

 ...it was a beautiful day....

....all-over sun puddles....

...but i think the effort rather did for Lola....

Do Not Disturb Til Monday.....
...and so on Sunday I rounded up Typist and William and we set off on an even more exciting journey....TO LONDON!!!!...

...another first class travelling pocket....

...we went on my first train ride.....

hmmmm, the seat is comfy but not quite my size....

...you might have seen my at @dogsontrains.....but I was glad I was with the Typist because Waterloo was very confusing for a small dog....

...oh my....which train is ours....

...and i got to go in my first Black Cab.....

and pay my first visit to a big building in our capital city......we were off to Somerset House to see our friends.....

...it's very grand here!!....

...they are already celebrating Christmas in London...it will be my first one.....

...a bit bigger than the one at home....

I was very keen to get started....

...do you have one in a "small"?....

.....and we got to spend a marvellous hour circling the ice.....

...WHeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!...
...and I had a hot chocolate to drink afterwards....and then we had lunch in a very smart place called Covent GArden but we decided not to take photos of the mahoosive burgers that Typist and William were eating!!....and for a special tweet I took them to the Apple Shop afterwards....and I gave some tweeting and blogging lessons to the tourists...

....make sure your laptop is switched on and then you can begin....

....but our perfect day was done too soon and we had to head home again....

Bye Bye London...i loved my first visit...

....I had the perfect weekend my friends and Lola did too.

Happy napping!!
