On the roof of the world...

Hello my friends....with profound apologies, I am now ready to bring you news of Border terrier HQ's annual ski trip...

.....we drive to France...we go on the train that goes in the tunnel which goes under the sea..its furry exciting...can you see me? I am a stowaway because I have no passport....

....the Colonel and I made sure we took proper mountain clothing with us....it does not pay to have cold ears....we are just settling down in our hotel for the night....we will drive the rest of the way to the mountains tomorrow...

...up at Yawn O'clock the next day to get on the road before the rest of Europe....

....our first party of the trip was secured and eaten on the way...very civilised.....

...the Colonel was not entirely enamoured of the weather on the way down....it was a bit rainy and a bit windy....

...but we finally arrived safe and sound on Saturday evening after some monstrous traffic jams and having to don the snow chains to face a final hour in a blizzard as we drove up the hairpins into the resort...we are at Les Menuires....

...in the morning the Colonel and I checked that the full breakfast order had arrived....delivered to your door by the local bakery every morning at 7am!...I love France...

....and a little something to put a spring in your step.....

...the first day was a bit snowy and a bit foggy and that makes skiing quite a tricky prospect....

....although it does seem to improve lunches quite a bit....

...and in the evening the Colonel and I constructed a spaghetti bolognese for the tired skiers.....*garlicky paws*....

.....we found evidence that pastries have been eaten in the mountains since the oldy times...by our ancestors...*ahem*

...in the morning I tweeted a live weather forecast from the balcony....today, better than yesterday....

...it was the Colonels turn to venture out....

....but despite his orders the clouds would insist on rolling in....

...and when the sky and the floor are the same colour its time to head in for safety's sake....

....see?...much safer here...

....we had a very nice view of the slopes from our apartment....behind me is the local bar....

....i am glad i have a high-quality mohair ski suit to keep me warm....

....it helped when TT and I had to take the rubbish out to the recycling centre through the village...

....the sun did show its face and we had glorious weather and perfect skiing conditions for most of the week...here i am at 3,000m or 9,000 ft on top of a glacier....

....glorious no?....

....and after years of doing this there is nothing too big for me to tackle.....

....fruit...one or two of my five-a-day....

...I am just looking after this for a friend....

...er...we have a lot of friends....

....and it was still a bit Christmassy in the Alps.....

..as the Colonel and I were alternating ski days I got to relax in the apartment....

...which was lovely when the sun came out....

...although i was responsible for logistics and route planning....

...and on Thursday nights we joined @henryandfriends for our weekly #keepfits class......*streeeeetch*

...we missed our final day skiing because thick fog rolled in to town so we loaded up the car and headed for home....we drove for 14 hours across France and eventually arrived home on Friday night ...a whole day ahead of schedule...

....someone was very pleased to have us home....

...now, as you know, I usually include a little video here to prove to you that I was doing actual skiing....but tis year we miserably failed to get any suitable footage....we had difficulty using the iBone on the slopes and the glare off the screen meant that the best we had was a few crazy shots of my ears....pfffft....

Its good to be home....woof...Clapton...

#SkippersSussexSnooter

Hello there my friends and welcome back to our blog....we have a little news for you...

The week did not start well for Miss Lola, who had to be bathed...she hates the bath...

...she eventually settled on her old cushion which we had covered in a bath mat so she could dry in front of the fire....I don't think she's speaking to me...

....the following day I took her out for a walk to cheer her up....

....we found some sticks to chase...but she doesn't chase sticks....

...she likes to hang around at the back snootering.....

....we saw some exciting news posted up at Epsom Downs...the very famous racecourse we live close to..Terrier Racing!....I may enter Miss Lola...and I could be her jockey....

...on Sunday we had a very exciting tweet-up with some pals from Twitter....we gathered in a car park in the beautiful Ashdown Forest which is about an hour from BT HQ...

...we even had some non-tweeting pals there too...this is Mr Bruno....

...our good friend Mr Skipper had organised it...I think we were about 15 dogs or so in total....14 border terriers and Mr Spot the Jack Russell....

...lots of zooming and snootering...we did not take Miss Lola because sometimes she gets a bit fighty with other lady BTs....

...this is Mr Rolo...our senior member...

....Mr Toddy..our junior member I think....

...Mr Spot...a very gentle soul...

...Mr Bruno again at the pub...

...we walked for miles and had to revive ourselves at the pub...(its just a Coke!)...

if you click HERE you can see a small movie of the fun we had...

....we are very lucky to live in a such a beautiful place...look at where the typist and I got to on our bike on Sunday...!

...pawsome....

You ca read some really great blogs about the #SkippersSussexSnooter by Mr Skipper HERE and Mr Rolo HERE....well worth a look ..but BE WARNED...they contain uncensored pics of the typist...only for the strong-of-stomach....

Woof...Clapton....
