Extra Pride....

Hello...as promised, I am bringing you news of pride in the Greater Glasgow area....

BTs at da Park

I had a most amazing weekend and I  wanted to be able to share it with you....a few weeks ago we went to meet a whole bunch of our friends from Twitter...which was an amazing treat and an honour.....when Marley started the Border Terrier Posse on Twitter four years ago we never realised that we would one day get to spend the day playing with other border terriers and talking to their staff....but four years later we have 440 friends in all corners of the world and we are truly grateful for their friendship and support.....and this weekend we got to do it again with another part of the Posse...and this time we remembered to take a few photos...and so did others!!

I caught the train to London with Miss Lola.....

We had a bit of a yack about the people we would be meeting.....

...and of course we made sure that we had our ID with us...I think it got me free travel on the train....

...we arrived at Hyde Park in plenty of time.....but its a big place and we had to search for everyone....

.....the very handsome @tedterrier was there.....

...and @BettyLhaSchnoo came with @chillterrier....

Mr Timmy @chillterrier and the typist had a bro-mance going....

...we had a guard of honour...or were Jack, Molly and Lexie just helping police with their enquiries?.....

the staff had been asked to bring the treats....they proved to be popular.....

....but I dont know if our photos are really doing the event justice so I will let you look at the wonderful video that @jackmolly3 made from all the best of everyone's efforts....Jack and Molly came all the way from Bristol to see us all....and they gave us treats....

...we really did have the most amazing day and we got to chat about dear old Marley with some of his friends which was very nice although it made us miss him so....and we say a special thanks to Betty and Miss Stella @smcheetham for doing all the hard work to get things together......they did an amazing thing.....

....we had a big picnic under the tree and then we had to head for home because we had to pick up the family and rush back to London again in the evening....everyone else stayed in the park and some of them even went swimming....Miss Lola found it all a bit overwhelming....

..in the evening we gave William a treat for finishing his exams and went to a famous club in London called Ronnie Scott's.......it's a jazz club...and we went to see the Kyle Eastwood Band....Mr Kyle is just as talented as his famous father, Mr Clint!

...but there were strict rules about no phones or photos in the club so we just have this quick peek of the stage to prove we were there....

.....the band were amazing and a real inspiration...here's a quick clip of them playing in France....(although apart from Mr Eastwood the band we saw was all different players)...

Weekend schmeekend....

Hello everyone!

My main job this week was to announce the start of #flatmarley 2013.....regular readers of this blog will know all about Marley's annual game to raise "munee" for Dogs Trust and Terrier Rescue...but for new friends and old you can click HERE to see the launch announcement....we are trying to raise £1,000 to keep doggies in fur-ever homes......

....so, with all that work to do I only have time to give you a quick summary of what we did this weekend....

....naturally, there was our weekly cycling expedition...but this weekend we opted for a short ride up two of Surrey's biggest hills: Leith Hill and Box Hill. This is a 30-mile round trip and typist said he wanted to try and achieve personal best times up both hills....they are very steep so this was a tall order....

....we puffed and panted our way up Leith Hill.....it was a tough climb but we made it in the end....you can see my previous, more relaxed, visit to Leith Hill, just HERE....and the blog has other reports of Marley's visits here if you just search using the search bar on the right...

....the best bit was zooming down Leith Hill of course....but the road was quite bumpy and we had to be careful....and then we zoomed up Box Hill...where the whole of the cycling world congregates at the weekend. We passed and were passed by tens of other riders as we pounded up the hill....I shouted encouragement from my safety-pouch.....

...and afterwards we zoomed down to the Bike Beanz cafe in Ashtead for a restorative cup of tea and a bacon roll!....and then we went home and waited nervously for the data to download from our GPS device to see if we had beaten any of our records...and we had!! In fact, we set records on 49 separate stretches of the route...you can see them all here....some of the times are a bit misleading because the Garmin records resting time as well as moving time and the Strava app overlaps some sectors ...but we think that the clever computers were able to tell what was rest and what was cycling and give us our records accordingly....PHEW!

....and Sunday was such a sunny day that we decided to join Peter Tosh in the garden where he was catching up on his reading but remembering to protect his skin against the sun even though he has thick fur...

...Miss Lola found some shade to nap in.......

...and then helped herself to a generous lick of typist's face (she likes the taste of sun lotion) and ran off to a safe distance....or maybe to go and get a drink of water....

...and she even persuaded William to take a break from his revision to join in some sun-puddling....

...I hope you can join in #flatmarley again this year. We have already had two promises of a trip to Antarctica!! That is the only continent where #flatmarley has not been seen so far. Hurray!!

Hello my dear friends....I thought I would let you know what we got up to LAST weekend....because SOMEONE forgot to do a post last week....

It was a nice sunny day so we decided to go for a walk......

We walked at Headley Heath where we met up with our friends at #BTSurrey...and this time we bumped into the cows at the top of the hill.....they were slightly in the way....

....so we approached them quietly and slowly and spoke softly to them so they did not get spooked...and asked politely if we could take their picture for @sidthecatahoula.....

...Miss Lola thought they smelled quite interesting.......

....but her favourite bit of the day was getting home and having her tripe stick to chew in the garden.....oh dear, see how long the grass had got.....

...in the evening I watched the Champions League final with @terriertypist and we spoke to our German friends Yogi and Mr Finn on twitter....they were both supporting Borussia Dortmund and so did we....

Dortmund scored!!....

...but then the Bayern Munich players kept throwing themselves on the ground looking for penalties.....I auditioned for Bayern Munich.....

Miss Lola did not like the football and hid in the garden.....

....Peter Tosha dn I sat outside to enjoy the last of the evening sun....Miss Lola was a bit puzzled...I think she had forgotten the password to get back into the kitchen....

We are hoping for some nice sunny weather this weekend too.....Clapton
