Brussels Bound

Hello my friends….this week I took a little trip to Belgium with the Typist….he likes to have a bit of company on his business trips as it can be lonely in hotels….

…..Miss Lola was not at all impressed when I told her she had to stay behind to keep an eye on William…..

….went went to London by train and hopped into a black cab when we arrived…typist can't manage the tube system with his wonky leg at the moment so we took the easy option…...

…..i watched the city go by from the window…..here we are on Waterloo Bridge …..

….it has one of the best views in London….

…..we arrived in time for to catch the Eurostar train to Brussels….the station is right next to typist's office….the lounge is a bit like an office with lots of people working on their laptops….

….i kept an eye on the boards to be sure we boarded at the right time and from the right platform….get the wrong one and we might have been in Paris by accident….just after we took this picture Ms Claudia Schiffer walked past with her children….I blanked her…I don't like to be bothered when I'm out in public as it embarrasses the Typist...

….it only takes two hours to get to Brussels….and you have to go under the sea to get there…good job the train was not leaky….

….we hopped in another taxi to get to the town were staying in….this one was a Mercedes….it was very comfy…..

….but not as comfy as the bed when we made it to the hotel…..

….i investigated the facilities….and almost made myself jump!…How Much is That Doggie in the Mirror?

…..i helped the Typist get set up to work for the afternoon whilst we waited for the other people to arrive….

…..in the morning I had to select my grooming regime carefully in the bathroom as there appears to be a risk of bumping into supermodels every five minutes on these trips...

…Typist made sure i looked my best just in case…..

…..er….this may look like the bar but Typist tells me we were just there for a change of scene and a coffee...

….whilst he worked I took a spin round the hotel…..

…..it was not exactly glamorous…..

….but being Belgium there was easy access to waffles and chocolate…..

….i found some fish to talk to like @jackmolly3 do…..it might have been my accent but they did not appear to9 understand me….

…..and there was a very narrow escape when the Typist almost got his paws on a bike….no cycling for him until next year!!

…..Christmas was already in full swing in Belgium….Happy..er…November!!…..

…I checked the map for local attractions…...

…..but they best they could offer was sledging…..and there was no snow…..

….so I thought I would chat to my pals on twitter and logged on to the internet….wahahahahaha….see what I did there?…..come back...

…..we retired to bed after dinner….i was careful to make sure no one woke me too early…..

…and in the morning, whilst the Typist was at his meetings, I made full use of the spa…..

….the City Dog has regular pawdicures…….

…..but our trip was soon over and we left a grey and rainy Brussels…….

….*checking for leaks*….

….and before I knew it I was back in London and looking for our train home….

…ah Home….the best bit of any trip….

….Miss Lola told me all was well with William….

Border Terrier Posse Christmas Concert

My good friend @thomasAterrier has been helping to organise a very prestigious event.....

...the Border Terrier Posse are to hold a Christmas concert at the Albert Hall (*virtual) on 15 December...all in aid of Terrier Rescue......the time is still to be confirmed but you all have a chance to participate....I have told Mr Thomas that I shall be happy to play drums in the band....

....i have retired to the den to practice.....the big kit?....

....or the electric kit?....hard to know which will be best.....

.....i told Mr Thomas there would be paradiddles...so I am boning up on single, double and even triple paradiddles!!....

.....I wonder if it might need some longer sticks.......

.....I certainly think I will need some amplification to be heard all the way up in the top tier....

.....i might take my guitar along just in case.....you never know if there will be an all-star jam at the end....

....i shall certainly need the headphones to protect my delicate ears....if only from the signing! BOL!

.....I have asked for security.....I do tend to attract groupies.....

.....no doubt there will be lots of promotion to do....must remember to get my sponsor's name in all the shots......I'll be using this beast for the Big Finish....

....and I must practice some "HELLO LONDONNNNNNNNs"......

......I am quite good at press....."We're basically bigger than the Beatles now...."....

.....I'll need to make sure the fans can see my from the back.......

.....*sings* ..."It seems to me he lived his life like a terrier in the wind....."

.....only blue M&Ms on my rider.....I'll be checking....*Diva ears*

....I imagine there will be a charity single to follow....*mix mix mix*....

....I'm predicting very great things.....

Clapton "John Bonham" Terrier....

What did we do when there was nothing to do?

....typist has ventured back into work these last couple of weeks....he's been travelling our of the rush hour so as to avoid accidents with his foot...it's been pretty dispiriting he says....but old Marley remembered to send him a border terrier to keep him company on his journey....that is Miss Beanie...who turned out to be very friendly indeed....

.....meanwhile Miss Lola made the most of being fully-furred....she tried to hide in the lounge using her natural camouflage.....

....but it was no use and she was whisked off to the groomers for her bi-annual fur-do.....there is less drama these days when she is stripped and our nice groomer has now survived several trips from mi'lady.....

.....she looks very smart we think....

.....although it has made her a bit reluctant to go out in public....she has taken to the beanbag 24/7 trying to hide her nakedness....

....I have not been so lucky and this candid short found its was onto Twitter.....luckily my very kind friend @bordermeg took pity on me and her mum has agreed to knit me a tail....I am very much looking forward to be being able to wag it....

...but for now I am hiding my modesty and sticking to my chores......

...Miss Lola is complaining about being cold all the time and won't move from the fire....

......you can imagine how cross she was when she got back from a bathroom break the other night....

...luckily for her she can be quite persuasive when she wants to be....

.....she became quite insistent of being allowed some lap time with the typist....no matter what the cost to our tweeting empire.....

...I had to wait patiently whilst she finished with all her fussing.....

....er....no, no chocolates to see here...move along please....

....our first attempts were not that successful as Miss Lola was intent on eating her tripe stick in the garden....

...so typist and I just had to do a few "selfies".....

...Miss Lola was eventually persuaded to drop in for a shoot.......

....she claimed to be busy keeping typist warm on the sofa....

....or having to do some concerted sun-puddling before winter sets in.....

.....but we know she wishes all dogs to be in their forever home first time....no unwanted puppies for Christmas please.....

....I, of course, am always busy making sure typist continues to heal from his accident....a healthy diet is the foundation for well-being....

.....and in between times I maintain my enigmatic on-line presence....*listens to Editors*
