A Tail of Two Walks....

Hello my friends....we have been having some trouble with our BT HQ admin recently because the old iBone has been dropped so many times by the typist (who is supposed to be able to operate those opposable thumbs) that it has stopped taking phone calls and has a few other glitches...so on Saturday we headed off to see if we could do something about it...

....we went in to Epsom...which is the big town near to where we live...I parked Clapton's Taxi in the car park..because we went early there were plenty of spaces even though it was Saturday....

....we went to the O2 store and sat patiently waiting to be served....for my overseas friends O2 is one of our mobile network providers...they have a shop in Epsom...we were served quickly and efficiently and within 20 minutes of arriving we had secured ourselves a new iBone....for the nerds out there it is an iBone 6+ because we liked the look of the big screen and can maybe now stop using our iPaw as that is also not old and a bit unreliable...

....those opposable thumbs are going to come in handy because the new iBone is bigger than me!!....

....so equipped with our new roaming mobile BT HQ equipment we took Miss Lola up to Epsom Downs for a walk...Epsom Downs is famous as the home of the Derby...the UK's best known and most prestigious horse race....it was run last weekend whilst we were in Wales...he I am on the grass by the grandstand...it is safe to walk there after 12 noon when the horses have finished training....

.....but wow!...look at what was going on there last weekend...right where I am standing now!.....

....I checked very careful that there were no horses still racing....

....and made sure we followed all the rules...although, to be honest, the grass was a big mess as they and not yet finished cleaning up after last week's festivities...but there were a battalion of cleaners on the course with bags and picky-upper sticks for the last of the litter...

.....we walked strongly and were still in the lead at the 8 furlong marker.....

....Miss Lola was the pre-race favourite..and to be fair the typist was never really in with a chance on the soft ground....

...most of the litter was abandoned betting slips...Adventure did not come in at 9/1 for someone...

...without the crowds we had a clear view of the finish line......

....the race was actually won by Golden Horn......

....and this mornings e decided to have a different sort of walk...so I sent the Colonel to guide Miss Lola up the lanes and into the woods...

.....the sun was only just peeping through as it was so early.....but we think its better to walk then in the summer as its cooler and more comfortable for Miss Lola....

...the Coloenl, like any good soldier, is a little nervous about being on open ground in the big field.....

....problem solved....

....Miss Lola made sure she gathered all the signal intelligence from the local jungle wireless....
...and Miss Lola had a fine time and enjoyed her walk......you can see her bumbling along here (alas we could not get the video to embed to Blogger)...

...loving the new iBone...Clapton
