Happy Holiday

Lola and I are off on our holidays tomorrow so we may not get a chance to speak to you all before then.

We are going to Pol Perro in Cornwall and will be seeing our lovely friends, the Marsdens, who have a new puppy for us to play with and three nice children (Luke, Lottie and Josie) to make a fuss of us. You can see the village here. Nice, no?

Our friends on twitter are playing a game with us while we are away called #mewith. They have suggested topics and I have to make sure we get a photo of each thing: "me with.....". We will post the results when we get home, or you may be able to get a sneak preview if you follow us on twitter. So far, the best suggestion is "me with....a bacon sandwhich". Slurp....nom nom.

We hope you have a great week.

Toys

Lola and I decided to get out all of our toys tonight for a good old rumble in the garden with daddy and William. I thought you might like to see some of them.

Here is Duck, who is my favourite because he squeaks..

And then there is Monkey, who Lola plays with a lot...

And here is Lola hiding in the bushes with Squirrel

But I got him back...

Of course, chews are good for our teeth..

But these are my favourite toys of all...

Greenery

Some of you have been asking for a gardening update so last night Lola and I went out to investigate the vegetables with the help of dad. We were very pleased to see that the all important tomatoes have appeared (but look a bit green and....well... wrinkly):

Lola did try and eat something....

...but the courgettes were safe in the end....

I have also made beans and squash...

The apples are looking nice....

...and William has grown a nice crop of tennis balls...

Bonjour

Hello everyone. Lola and I have been very lazy this week and have not blogged at all. This is mostly because the humans have been away in Paris (see evidence)...

...and Lola and I have been visiting the biological family at Cidermill Farm. It's awalys an exhausting few days as we are taken on two long walks each day and "forced" to play with the rest of the border terrier pack. It's a wonder we survive. Back home now, thinking up new blogs and getting back to our routine....

Loss of Dignity

Yesterday was haircut day. I have been through the order several times before and so I went first. This is what I looked like before....

...and this is what I looked like afterwards. Handsome, no?

Poor old Lola. This was her first haircut and she made such a fuss about being stripped that the nice ladies at PetsAtHome had to clip her. This is what she looked like before (the little lion we used to call her)...

...but now she is a baldie dog like this...

I am now showing off my new look by posin on my new cushion..

...and Lola has gone into the garden to show it to the birds and lick dew off the grass...

...and now she is back lookin cute...

Green Paws

Lola and I have been growing things in the garden. Last night we decided to go and have a look at them.

First we looked for tomatoes but could not find any....

Eventually, we called William for help....

...and he helped us to find a corgette (which he hates to eat) and a squash....yum

...but I still think there are tomatoes here somewhere...

Force For Good

Today we want to bring to your attention the very kind people at Allsorts Dog Rescue in Sussex (in the UK), who do kind work for doggies of all descriptions. They found new homes for 11 dogs in June. Not hard to see why...

Today, they have a little lady who I would offer a home to if I was allowed by mum and dad. Hello, Farrah......*blushes*

Best day ever

We had such a good day on Saturday. We woke dad up at 5.30 and got him to take us out for a walk at Headley Heath, which was beautiful in the morning sun. There is no place we enjoy more and there are always things to do.

We met a small group of greyhounds and walked for an hour or so. The sniffing was good. When we got home mummy had a surprise for us. She decided we would do something nice for William as he has been ill with swine flu and he wanted to go fossil hunting. We found a place called Herne Bay in Kent and set off in the car. This gave Lola and I chance to snooze in the car as it took an hour or so to get there.

Herne Bay has quite a stony beach and when we got there the tide was in - we were at the Reculver end.

We walked along looking for fossils - at least the humans looked for fossils and Lola and I sniffed for bones. Frustratingly we found one but it was fossilised. Grrrr

We stopped at a pup and dad introduced us to pork scratchings, which are the work of the Great Dog in the Sky. We eventually wandered back tired and hot after two hours and had to paddle in the sea to cool our feet. This was a surprise to all the humans as we do not usually "do" water.

We also found a jellyfish, which turned out to be more jelly than fish.

All in all, the perfect day.

Bonjour, early risers

Today, we decided to get up early to go for our walk to avoid the hot sun. Daddy has been kindly doing this for us all week. To celebrate, we decided to make a short film of the highlights. Lola was determined to upstage me.....
