Kefalonia....

Hello my friends....have you missed me? I've been away on my holiday to Kefalonia...a Greek island...for the last two weeks...so many apologies for not visiting your blogs during all that time....Kalimera (that's Greek for "good morning").....

....oh look! There's our plane....it's a brand new Boeing 737-800 with the wrappers just off....it takes 3 hours to reach Kefalonia from London.....

We stayed at the White Rocks hotel in a place called Lassi....you can see their website here....we recmmend it highly....this was my first view from the lobby down to the sea and the beach below....can you see the chidlren swimming? They were there from 7am until after 10pm at night!

There was a lovely sunset over the hills every night.....we had an early night the first day because we arrived in the late afternoon....

...and before I went to bed I make sure I had checked the map carefully so I knew where we were and where we might be able to go....

Kalimera! The bed was very comfy...and most importantly we had air con so the 95+ temperature did not bother us whilst we napped...

After breakfast, I made sure I was all correctly kitted out for the beach......

...and made sure the typist had his morning espresso so he could focus on the day......

....there was a nice sea breeze to keep the furs cool....although it did blow my beard about a bit....

....the beach on the other side of the hotel looked a little busy so we went to the quiet pebbly one instead.....

....but before we could go and get our deckchair typist and I had to tidy up some paperwork which had followed us from London...

....but it did not take us long and we were soon enjoying the beach......
....the Greek paw-parazzi followed me to the local supermarket....NOTHING TO SEE HERE....

....and typist was very happy when I discovered a frappe to keep him cool and awake!!.....mmmmmm

....we took a taxi to Argostoli...the capital "city" of Kefalonia which was quite nearby.....

....and we had a wander round the quiet streets....

....we found a church....but I had nothing to confess....

....and we found a quiet cafe for a natter.....

....and we had a wander along the harbour.....the fishing boats were lined up along the quay.....

.....i had a paddle....
....and look what we saw!!

if the little movie isnt showing up for you you can see it here....

....the fishing boats throw their scraps overboard every morning and the turtles come in to make the most of them....

.....there were some smarter boats too....

...I was invited aboard to view the facilities....

....but as some of the family get seasick we stayed firmly on the quayside and watched the boats leave without us....

....I found a big bone for Miss Lola...but it turned out to be a fossil so it would not have made good eating....!!

....all that walking sent us looking for something cold to cool us down....

.....that's the first half of my holiday snaps my friends....there will be some more to follow....

Woof....Clapton
